ABOUT NovoLuxor

Made for us.
Shared with you.

An independent developer organization building client apps
for self-hosted services and solutions to everyday problems.

THE REASON

We wanted
to use better apps.

NovoLuxor started with our own frustration. We had the media and the server, but the client apps kept leaving something out: a native design, a Mac app, a useful feature, or a control that was easy to use.

We started building the missing pieces ourselves. LibraVia is our reader client. VelaCanto is our music player. Both begin with Jellyfin and the Apple devices we use.

This isn't a search for problems to turn into products. We're solving problems we already have.

WHY SHARE IT?

Why keep it
to ourselves?

We're doing the work anyway.

These apps meet our own needs first. That gives us a reason to keep improving them whether or not anyone else uses them.

You might need the same thing.

If you've also found the existing clients incomplete, the features and decisions we care about may matter to you too.

If it helps, great.

We see no reason to keep a useful solution to ourselves. Sharing the work gives others a chance to benefit from it.

SHARING THE WORK

Basic functionality
is free.

We do not charge for basic functionality.

The value of solving our own problems comes first. It shapes what we build and how we think about sharing it.

Our codebases are publicly viewable. We do not provide a license granting others permission to use the code. Public visibility should not be read as a reuse license.

TELL US WHAT YOU FIND

We read
your feedback.

Feedback and issues are welcome on GitHub. If you're enrolled in a beta, you can also share feedback through TestFlight.

We read all communication. Replies and changes depend on our decisions about the work; not every feature request will be developed.

Our roadmaps are available on GitHub. They are working plans, and they change as we discover what we need from the apps.

Built for the devices
we actually use.

The apps currently support iPhone, iPad, and Mac on Apple OS 27, with Jellyfin Server 12.0. Public TestFlight links are planned for the coming weeks and will be added to the app pages when available.
